First Fair Isle Hat!

This was my first Fair Isle project and I loved it! It was so much fun to knit and very rewarding. Plus it was my first project I've completed on my Knit Picks interchangeable needles! I'm giving it to a friend as a gift. I have such a hard time giving projects away as gifts, I'm such a greedy little knitter haha

Spring!!!

So I haven't written in awhile but I have been knitting away! I still enjoy my Thursday night knitting classes with my Mom and now I've moved on to 2 At A Time Socks! I LOVE it! I'm almost finished with my first pair and I've already started stashing yarn for my next sock project. I also bough Sock Innovation which has tons of beautiful patterns! I have to keep this short 'cause  I gotta get ready for class! Until next time, God bless!

Felted Purse!

So I finished my purse and I love it!!! It didn't take me long to make at all. If I had more time to knit I probably could have finished it in a day or so. It was also the first thing I've ever felt and I have to say that I think felting is the coolest thing ever. I cannot believe that the giant bag I knit turned into this cute little purse that you cant even see the stitches. I can't wait to but a little magnetic button to close the flap. Once I do I'll post a picture of it!!! :-)

Knitting in Public

I just thought I'd write just a quick little something since I haven't written in awhile. Recently I've gone back to school for my last semester in college. I have been so stressed out with doing my internship and working all at the same time. So I've been keeping up with my knitting to keep me sane. So since I'm not home often anymore I now knit in public. I've knit in front of the kindergartens I teach and I love seeing how amazed they are when I tell them about what I'm making. I also get a kick out of when I knit at work (I work at a tanning salon). Today I got a lot of comments. I was asked what I was making and how did I learn. I thought the funniest comment was about my age. I find that many people are surprised to see a 22 year old working at a tanning salon and knitting behind the counter haha. I love it. Right now I'm working on my first purse. I'm going to felt it when I'm done, I'm wicked siked to see how it turns out. I'll make sure to post pictures! :-)

I Finished It!!!

I am soooo excited. I finished my first glovelet for my knitting class. I swear while I was binding off my my LYS I had a adrenaline rush haha. I love it. I was very excited when my Mom and I got into the car to go home and she told me while she was buying some yarn the store owner asked her how she liked that class, my Mom said she loved it, and then the owner said "Your daughter is doing extremely well, that is a very difficult pattern." When my mom told me that I was ecstatic, considering I've only been knitting for a year. Now I just have to try and remember it all so I can make the second glovelet haha. I have also been thinking about trying to find a yarn swap. I think that would be wicked fun. I also just bought the book "Knitting for Peace" and I want to pick out one or two of the causes in the book to knit for. I just need to graduate so that I can work full time to make money to support my new addiction haha. If anyone is actually reading this is there anything I can do to make my page more interesting? I see a lot of other knitting blogs full of comments and that are so fun to read and I feel like mine is just blah so I am open to suggestions because I look forward to posting my projects on here and finding other blogs and seeing what other knitters are creating and I'd like to make mine something worth reading too. Thanks :-D

Happy New Year!!!

So this is a little project I knit up the other night when I was bored. I think it's cute. I found the pattern on Ravelry. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it. I'm kinda thinking I might try and put it in a frame and put a nice quote underneath it. I think that would be nice. And then maybe I can do that for special events. Like make one for the year I move out of home and get my own place, or when I get married etc. And each quote will relate to the event. This one can be for the year I graduate.

First Hat!!!

Here's my first adult hat. I love it. Unfortunetly I made it for someone else to give to their son (whom I don't know) so I guess that just means I'll have to make another one for my boyfriend. It didn't take me too too long to make it. I was snowed in all weekend because we got able a foot and a half of snow outside so I kept myself busy knitting. I'll post again soon when I knit more!!!
